Milky Way Cake

8 Milky Way Candy Bars 1/4 teaspoon Salt
1 stick Butter 2 teaspoon Vanilla
2 1/2 cups Flour Icing:
1 cup Pecans chopped 3 Milky Way Candy Bars
1/2 teaspoon Baking soda 1 stick Butter
2 cups Sugar 2 teaspoon Milk
4 whole Eggs 1 1/3 cups Powdered sugar
1 cup Buttermilk

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Melt butter and candy bars; set aside. Beat eggs, one at a time. Add remaining ingredients and mix together. Fold in Milky Way bars and butter mixture. Bake for 1-1 1/2 hours in a 13x9 pan (you can also use 3-9" round cake pans).

Icing: Melt candy bars and butter. Stir in milk and powdered sugar. Add additional milk if needed. Beat until smooth and spread on cooled cake.

Cocnut Chess Pie

5 eggs
2tsbp vinegar
1 stick butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. coconut
1 tsp vanilla

Mix together and pout into unbaked pie shell. Bake for 2 hours in 250 oven.

Marshmallow Nut Cake

2 cups sugar
2 sticks oleo - better known as butter for all you young people
4 eggs
4 teaspoons coco
1 1/2 cup flour, self rising
2 cups pecans
1 Package of small marshmallows

Cream sugar, oleo(butter), and eggs. Sift flour and coco and blend with the creamed sugar, oleo(butter) and eggs.

Add Pecans.

Bake at 325 for 30 minutes. Turn oven off and take out of oven. Cover with Marshmallow and put the cake back in the oven, the heat will melt the marshmallows.

Icing:

1 box powder sugar(white)
1/2 stick oleo melted (butter)
4 teaspoon coco
1/2 cup pet milk

Beat with rotary beaters (mixer) and pour over cake.


I found this in my grandmother's newspaper clippings. I had to have Tim's help figuring out some of the short hand.

Mini CheeseCakes

12 Vanilla Wafers
2 8oz Packages cream cheese, softened
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs

Line muffin tin with foil liners

Place one vanilla wafer in each liner. Mix cream cheese, vanilla and sugar on medium speed until well-blended. Add eggs. Mix well. pour over wafers, filling 3/4 full. Bake 25 min. at 325.

Remove from pan when cool. Chill. Top with fruit, preserves, nuts or chocolate.

Jello Salad

Step 1
Mix 1 box lemon jello and 1 box of orange jello. Add 2 cups of boiling water.

Step 2
Add 1 1/2 cups of cold water, 4 bananas diced and 1 lb can of crushed pineapple to step 1. Let congeal and completely cover with miniature marshmallows.

Step 3
Mix 1 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, 1 cup pineapple juice and 1 egg. Beat until foamy. Cook in heavy sauce pan until thick. Cool and pour over step 2.

Step 4
Whip 1/2 pint whipping cream and blend in 1 small cream cheese. Pour on top of step 3.

Cover with grated Colby cheese.

Chess Pie

Remember this is my grandmother's Recipe...some terms may be OLD.

1/2 cup oleo
2 cups sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon yellow cornmeal
5 well beaten eggs
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 unbaked pie shell(any brand will work)

Cream butter and sugar; beat in flour and cornmeal. Add eggs, milk, vanilla, and lemon juice; beat well. Pour into pastry shell. Bake at 350 for 55 to 60 min. or until knife comes out clean.

Tiger Butter

1lb white chocolate
1/2 cup crunchy peanut butter
6 oz package chocolate chips

Melt white chocolate in a double boiler. Stir in peanut butter. spread on foil lined cookie sheet or small brownie pan, which ever works best for you.

Melt chocolate chips in a double boiler and dribble, in swirls on top of the white chocolate. Take a knife or toothpick and swirl the chips in to make it look like tiger stripes. Set in refrigerator until hard and break or cut into squares.
